Thanks to all who made this entertaining and uplifting
drama a success!
The run-down parsonage at their new parish comes as a shock to Reverend Spence and his family – but that’s only the beginning! Reverend Spence is a man of values and common sense, who needs to apply both in dealing with his new congregation. He does seem to have one foot in heaven and the other in hot water! Entertaining and uplifting, this play’s messages of tolerance and faithfulness in the face of racism and temptation are timeless. The film version of this play, set in 1910 Iowa, was nominated for Best Picture in the Academy Awards of 1941.
