According to the Bible, pastoral care is the function of both clergy and lay members alike. Members of the CARE Team visit shut-ins or persons with special needs. Team members are trained in listening skills, hospital and home visitation, grief, etc. at monthly support meetings. Contact: Jean Kirk |
"Of all the jobs I ever had, the one that means the most to me is visiting shut-ins, those who are lonely, or those in nursing homes. I've been a lay pastor for many years and it's been a total joy for me. When leaving someone after a visit, the feeling of receiving is much greater than the feeling of giving. I encourage anyone who has compassion for others to join our Lay Pastor Ministry. You won't find a more rewarding experience. -Helen Chandler, CARE Team Member |
